Starting with the visible constellations and their associated mythology, Leonardo walked us across the sky, before aiming the telescope at specie planets, stars and nebula which were fascinating and clear. Half of our group was kids from 6 to 14 and for some it was the first truly clear sky they had ever seen. Leonard was patient with kids and forthcoming with knowledge and experience for the whole group. I highly recommend this experience

We had a terrific night of stargazing. Leonardo has great equipment and had lined up loads of interesting items for us to view in the night sky. He was patient and helpful and we were able to see a range of celestial sights clearly. We were with him on the night of a lunar eclipse, which made the whole experience even better. During our South Africa trip, we wanted to do a stargazing tour in Oudtshoorn, and that's how I came across Leonardo online. Contacting him via WhatsApp was incredibly easy, and we quickly arranged a time when he came to our accommodation with his telescope – very convenient. Leonardo visited us while we (Fifteen Grade 8 - 11 kids) were camping just outside Oudtshoorn. He did a “Sterrekunde” short course with the kids and wow! It was brilliant and left us amazed. We had the Night Sky Tour experience on January 2024 while we were in Oudtshoorn. Leonard was extremely attentive with my daughters and answered all of their questions, from the ones revolving the telescope to the ones about astronomy. We saw the moon, Saturn, Jupiter, and recognized some constellations! It's a very enriching experience, we had a wonderful time!

Most notably were your knowledge, commitment, and personal enthusiasm which excited and inspired us greatly. Your professional equipment and detailed explanation when viewing through the telescope and at the same time perform live photo stacking was really amazing. To not only see stars but also nebula, planets like Neptune and moons of Saturn is something else. Prince Albert is a wonderful location as it is so dark at night like almost nowhere else on Earth. It was a great experience beyond our expectation. We saw stars, planets and galaxies and all our questions were answered. Leonardo was accommodating from the beginning. He was pleasant to deal with and he really shone during the tour. He spoke at length about the stars, nebulas and he was knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter, including the technical aspects like the telescope. We were very impressed with Leonardo’s attention to the weather forecast & his communication about it in advance of our tour. The location was clearly described & easy to reach. He is a passionate & expert astronomer. Using his impressive equipment, he eagerly explained the mythology & astrology, both ancient & current. Leonardo is a great teacher & we highly recommend him!
We joined Leonardo last night on a farm outside Oudtshoorn for a memorable evening of stargazing. The evening was a mixture of information on the galaxy, interspersed with interesting tales about the early inhabitants' perception of the stars and viewing of various constellations through his powerful telescope. As a beginner, I found it most helpful that Leonardo explained exactly what we were observing and supported this with corresponding photos on his tablet. Altogether a great experience for young and old and we plan to join him soon in Prince Albert for even brighter skies!
